To run Timesheets through your overtime rules, you must click the Run Overtime Rules each week from the Timesheets Weekly page.

We advise you to Run Overtime Rules at the end of the week, after all timesheets have been submitted and approved. Only timesheets in the Approved status are run through overtime rules. A modal will warn you if there are timesheets without the approved status when you click the Run Overtime Rules button.

If you un-approve a timesheet that you have already run through your overtime rules, the timesheet codes will be stripped off the timesheet. You will need to approve the timesheet again and click the Run Overtime Rules button again for the week.

 

Important notes:

  • Only timesheets in the Approved status will be run through the rules.
    • Processed status timesheet hours count toward the daily/weekly overtime limits, but the timesheet codes will not be applied. If timesheet codes were previously applied to a processed timesheet, those codes will remain unchanged if that timesheet is run through overtime rules again.
  • If you manually change a timesheet code, that timesheet will not run through overtime rules again when you click the Run Overtime Rules button.
    • Your manual adjustments are protected. If you make a manual adjustment to timesheet codes but then want to reset that timesheet to go back through overtime rules, you can un-approve the timesheet and then approve again - then click the run overtime rules button again.
  • Break time is omitted (it doesn't get coded and doesn't count toward daily/weekly overtime limits).
  • If an activity has been set to Rule = None, then it is treated like a break. Activity must have the Rule = Add for it run through overtime rules.
    • You can check the rule for an activity under Work Planning - Activities.
    • By default, activities are set to Rule = Add and they will go through your overtime rules.
