Filling in a Gap Day from the Scheduler

  • Updated

The "Fill in a Gap Day" feature streamlines your scheduling process by allowing you to quickly add work shifts on days that were previously left empty in an order. This feature is particularly useful when you need to add a workday between already scheduled shifts, without having to manually edit the entire order.

When to Use This Feature

  • Gap Days in Orders: If your order has scheduled shifts on non-consecutive days (for example, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and you later decide that an additional workday (e.g., Thursday) is required.
  • Quick Adjustments: To quickly update your schedule from the Timeline without needing to navigate through the detailed order view.

How to Use "Fill in a Gap Day"

From the Scheduler > Timeline:

  • Identify a Gap Day
    • Look for an empty day between scheduled shifts.
    • The "Add Shift" button will only appear on an empty day if there is a scheduled shift on the surrounding days.
  • Click the Empty Day
      • Click on the empty gap day to prompt the "Fill in a Gap Day" feature.
      • A prompt will appear with an option to "Add Shift."
      • Click the Add Shift button.
      • Enter the required details by adding roles:
        • Select from Existing Roles: Choose any roles already associated with the order.
        • Create New Roles: If necessary, create new roles that fit the work required on that day.
        • Note: Adding at least one role is mandatory to complete the action.
        • Once the shift details have been added, confirm your entry.
        • The gap day will now be filled with the scheduled work shift.

      •

Note:

  • The "Add Shift" button appears only on empty days that have scheduled shifts on both the preceding and following days.
  • Last Day Restriction: You cannot fill in a gap day if it falls after the last scheduled day of the order.
