Archive a Project

  • Updated

Archive projects you are no longer working on so they stay out of your active list, while keeping all of their data. You can archive one project at a time, or select several and archive them together.

Before you start

Archiving does not delete anything. An archived project keeps its documents, journal, form results, pay rates and audit trail, and you can unarchive it at any time.

You will find your projects under Project Data > Projects. The dropdown at the top of the list (set to Active by default) controls whether you are looking at your active or archived projects.

Archive a single project

  1. Under Project Data, go to the Projects page.
  2. Make sure the view is set to Active (the dropdown at the top left of the list).
  3. Find the project you want to archive.
  4. Click the () menu at the end of that project's row.
  5. Select Archive.
  6. A Project updated successfully message confirms the change, and the project moves to your Archived list.

Archive several projects at once

When you have more than one project to archive, you can select and archive them in a single action.

  1. On the Projects page, tick the checkbox next to each project you want to archive. The header shows a running count, for example: 3 Projects Selected.
  2. Click Archive in the top right of the list.
  3. In the Archive Projects confirmation window, click Archive to confirm, or Cancel to stop.

All of the selected projects move to your Archived list together.

Tip

To select every project in the current list at once, use the checkbox in the list header row, then click Archive.

View or unarchive a project

Archived projects stay on the same Projects page. Switch the view to see them, or to restore one back to your active list.

  1. On the Projects page, click the Active dropdown at the top left of the list.
  2. Select Archived.
  3. Find the project you want to restore.
  4. Click the () menu at the end of its row, then select Unarchive.
  5. The project returns to your Active list.

Things to know

  • Archiving never deletes a project. You keep access to its documents, journal, form results, pay rates and audit trail, and can unarchive it whenever you need it.
  • Selecting multiple projects works for archiving only. To restore projects, unarchive them one at a time from the Archived view.
  • An archived project no longer appears when you schedule or create new work, which helps prevent it from being used by mistake.
