Now, let's get your Equipment (Assets) into our system. This will also help you leverage our Scheduling module, so you can begin tracking time against your equipment.

Disclaimer: The video steps through setting up workers, however, the steps are practically the same for Equipment.
Under Settings, go to the Assisted Import page and tap Upload
Complete your Equipment's information
You'll then see a table where you can start to fill out more information about your Equipment.
Fields | Field Description |
Equipment Name | The name of the piece of Equipment |
Description |
Feel free to describe this piece of equipment here. |
External ID |
Used to store an ID value from an external system e.g. your Invoicing or ERP application. When you export data from another system, you can include this field to easily import it into other applications (such as Assignar) and make sure the data matches. |
License Plate Number |
The license plate number that's assigned to your equipment. |
Year |
The year you would like to associate with your equipment. |
Make |
Make as in "Make and Model". |
Model |
Model as in "Make and Model". |
Serial Number |
The serial number for this piece of equipment. |
Charge Rate |
A unit of cost, typically associated with time (i.e. hour, day, month) charged to your customer. |
Number Readings |
We suggest using your odometer reading here |
Tags |
Use tags to group and filter for your equipment while in Assignar |
Roles |
Think of "Roles" as abilities, things your piece of equipment can do. |
You can upload this data into Assignar
To make this process more efficient, you can tap Upload from file and upload this data into Assignar. Alternatively, you can manually type in this information too.
Map your uploaded data to the Assignar data types
Just think of this as moving the data from an external 'bucket' into the right Assignar 'bucket'. Once everything is correctly mapped, tap Review to preview your work before commiting.
Here, the system is asking you to confirm the names within the column headers. If everything looks good, select YES.
Here, the system is asking you to confirm mappings. Use the green buttons to confirm all of your data is moving into the right buckets going forward.
If there are any issues, we'll highlight them in red and give you the chance to fix them.
Data immediately flagged in red are improperly formatted or have missing data. Correct any issues in your data.
Once all your issues are corrected, tap Continue and your data will be uploaded. Success!
To see your new Equipment, go to the Equipment page (or Assets page) on our Assignar Web App.
