Set Up Your Worker Roles (Tasks)

  • Updated

Who is this feature for?

  • Dashboard Users with access to Assisted Import in the Assignar Web App
  • Those responsible for the setup of Assignar in your company

Great job! You've almost set up all the information you need to get started with Assignar! Let's continue and get your Roles (Tasks) set up.

What is a Role (or Task)?

A Role (Task) is the type of work a worker can perform (e.g., Laborer or Excavation Level 2). You can attach more information to each Role (or Task) (e.g. specific workers or equipment) to represent that this role (task) can only be performed by a particular worker with this particular equipment, which will come in handy when you schedule your jobs!

2 Ways to Add Roles (Tasks) in Assignar

When adding multiple: Use Assisted Import

When you're importing Workers or Equipment using our Assisted Import, you'll see a column called Roles (Tasks). Because some workers and equipment are capable of performing more than one type of job, this field will accept 1 or many Roles (Tasks).

If you choose to import multiple Roles (Tasks), make sure you have the Roles (Tasks) separated by commas.  When you create Roles (Tasks) this way, Workers and Equipment will automatically be added to the Roles (Tasks).

When adding individually: Use the "Add New" button on the Roles (Tasks) page

  1. Navigate to the Roles (Tasks) page
  2. Tap +Add New
  3. Complete all the relevant fields
  4. Save

Docket Templates

If a docket template is added here, it will be made available to users with this role as it may be specific to the type of work that they do.

If you need to sync this Role (Task) to a payroll system or Project Management solution, add the ID used in that system here to make data download and upload easier.

Workers and Equipment attached to Roles (Tasks) will be recommended when you're scheduling!

Now that you've set up your Roles (Tasks), any worker and equipment setup for a particular role will be recommended during the scheduling process (if these resources are available).

Happy Scheduling! ✨
