About Screenshot and Screen Recording Requests

The Assignar Support team may ask users to send screenshots or recordings. Screenshots and screen recordings provide our team with additional information that can assist with troubleshooting. To learn how to take and share screenshots or screen recording, please review the steps below.

 

iPhone Users*

How to Take a Screenshot

  1. Quickly press and release the side button and the volume up button at the same time. A thumbnail of the screenshot will temporarily appear in the lower-left

  2. Tap the thumbnail to view the screenshot or view it in your Photos app

  1. Quickly press and release the side button and the Home button at the same time. A thumbnail of the screenshot will temporarily appear in the lower-left.

  2. Tap the thumbnail to view the screenshot or view it in your Photos app

How to Take a Screen Recording

  1. Go to Settings > Control Center, then tap the Add button the Insert Screen Recording button next to Screen Recording
  2. Open Control Center
    • iPhone X and later: swipe down from the top-right of your screen
    • iPhone SE, 8, and earlier: swipe up from the bottom of your screen
  3. Tap the Record button, then wait for the three-second countdown
  4. Exit Control Center to record your screen
  5. To stop recording, tap the Screen Recording button at the top, then tap the Stop button. Or, open Control Center and tap the red Record button

How to Share a Screenshot or Recording

  1. Open the Photos app
  2. Find and tap the appropriate screenshot image or recording
    • To select multiple images or recordings, tap Select, then tap the images or recordings
  3. Tap ⬆️, then choose a share option

 

Android Users**

How to Take a Screenshot

Important: Some of these steps work only on Android 11 and up. Learn how to check your version here.

  1. Open the screen that you want to capture
  2. Depending on your phone:
    • Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time
    • If that doesn’t work, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, then tap Screenshot
    • If neither of these work, go to your phone manufacturer’s support site for help
  3. At the bottom left, you’ll find a preview of your screenshot. On some phones, at the top of the screen, you'll find Screenshot capture

How to Take a Screen Recording

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen
  2. Tap Screen record
    • You might need to swipe right to find it
    • If it's not there, tap Edit and drag Screen record to your Quick Settings
  3. Choose what you want to record and tap Start. The recording begins after the countdown
    • You can choose whether to record audio and show touches on the screen before you start
  4. To stop recording, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Screen recorder notification

How to Share a Screenshot or Recording

  1. Open the Photos app
  2. Tap Library > Screenshots
  3. Tap Share Share
