Add/Edit a Project

  • Updated

Add a new project in Assignar so you can start allocating work to it, then open the project any time to edit its details, rates, documents and settings.

Before you start

  • Every project must be linked to a Client, so make sure the client exists before you begin (you select it when you create the project).
  • The Project name can be up to 100 characters including spaces.

Add a project

  1. Go to Project Data > Projects.
  2. Click + Add New in the top right.
  3. Select a Client name and enter a Project name. Both are required.
  4. Complete any of the other fields you need. See Project fields below for what each one does.
  5. Click Save to keep adding detail, or Save and Close to finish.

Other tabs on a project record

When you open a project, you will also see these tabs across the top. Each one has its own article where noted.

  • Map – draw a geo-fence around the site and add places of interest.
  • Documents – attach project documents and track their expiry.
  • Form Results – view forms that have been submitted against this project.
  • Journal – keep a running log of notes and entries against the project.
  • Charge Rates – set project-specific charge rate groups.
  • Pay Rates – set project-specific pay rate groups.

Things to know

  • Client name and Project name are the only required fields. Everything else is optional and can be added or changed later.
  • You cannot change the Client after a project has been created.
  • Restricting Role (Task) Groups limits which roles and assets are available on this project's orders and timesheets, so make sure the groups you choose contain everything the project needs.
  • Setting Activities (Cost Codes) controls which activities workers see in the mobile app for this project. Leave it blank to expose all activities.
