Delete a user to permanently remove their profile from Assignar when deactivating is not enough, for example a duplicate account that is causing problems with an integration.
|
Before you start You must deactivate a user before you can delete them. See Deactivate a user first. |
Deleting a user permanently removes their profile from Assignar. This cannot be undone.
In most cases you do not need to delete a user. Deactivating removes their access while keeping the account, so you can restore it later if they return. Only delete a profile when you specifically need it gone, for example a duplicate account that is causing problems with an integration.
Deleting a user does not delete any data they submitted. Their forms, timesheets, and other submitted content stay in Assignar.
|
Important Deactivating is reversible; deleting is not. If you only need to remove someone's access, deactivate them instead. |
Delete a user
- Deactivate the user first if you have not already. See Deactivate a user
- Go to Resources > Users.
- Open the Workers or Dashboard tab, depending on the type of user.
- Switch the Active filter to Deactivated.
- Find the user, then click the three-dot menu next to their name.
- Click Delete.
- In the Delete User confirmation, check the name, then click Delete. A “User deleted successfully” message confirms the deletion. Click cancel if you are unsure.
Things to know
- You must deactivate a user before you can delete them. Deactivated users appear when you switch the Active filter to Deactivated.
- Deleting is permanent and removes all the user's relations to other records. It cannot be undone. To remove access without losing the profile, deactivate the user instead.
- Assignar will not let you delete a user who is referenced by other records. If the user has an order, timesheet, or docket linked to them, deletion fails with the message “Cannot delete this user because they are referenced by other records.” This also applies to a dashboard user who has created an order, or manually added a timesheet or docket, at any point. In these cases, deactivate the user instead.
- Deleting applies to both workers and dashboard users. Open the matching tab (Workers or Dashboard) for the person you want to delete.
