Use this to automatically update an asset's number reading (odometer, hours, etc.) each time a worker submits a form, no manual data entry required.

Before you start
|
Important: A single form can only update one asset's reading. If a job involves two assets, create a separate form for each.
Steps
- Go to Field Data > Forms > Manage Form Templates
- Open an existing form or create a new one in the Form Builder
- Click Settings (top right) and scroll to Associate with — tick Asset
- In the form builder, click + Add Question and select a Number Field
- Name the question (e.g. "Odometer reading"), then tick Has Asset Number
Enabling this tells Assignar to push the value entered directly to the asset's Number Reading on submission.
- Complete any other fields, then click Save
What the worker sees On mobile, the form will show an Asset dropdown at the top. The worker selects the asset, enters the current reading, and submits. The asset profile updates automatically.
To verify it worked Go to Resources > Assets > open the asset > check the Number Reading field has updated.
Things to know
- The reading always updates to the most recently submitted value - make sure workers enter the actual current reading, not an estimate
- If the asset has a Number Expiry set, Assignar uses the updated reading to calculate the next service alert
